COMPANY NEWS January 2001 - Over the next several months we will be phasing out Neer Cartography operations in Humboldt County. Our family has decided to move to Denver, Colorado. We recently sold the copyrights to our Street Map Series to Compass Maps. They will be updating their maps with our data and additional data not currently on our maps. We will truly miss our friends in Humboldt County and hope the best for all. |

COMPANY PHILOSOPHY Mapmaking is a mixture of art, science and technology. Mapmaking is not "taking a photograph." It involves structured processing, generalizing and assembly. For a map to be effective, the graphic characteristics must be carefully chosen and integrated together. Map design involves intuition, rational choice, compromises, and like many fields, traditions and conventions. |
