There are many unique challenges in creating maps for television. The resolution of television sets limits the amount of information that can be presented. In addition to the limited screen size, graphics must appear within a smaller "safe zone." Font sizes are limited, not to small that they are illegible, not to big that they are oppressive. High Definition Television (HDTV) will allow for more freedom, however, HDTV is still early on in its adoption.

Below are two examples of maps created by Neer Cartography for television. Both of these files were output to Targa format for a Chyron Character Generator. Watermarks were not included.
